What you will do
  1. Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
  2. Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.
  3. Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
  4. These include but are not limited to wet (steel, copper and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  5. Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc., to diagnose and repair equipment.
  6. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  7. Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  8. Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding and obtain customer's signature.
  9. Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
What we look for
Required
  • Four years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler systems
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Participation in an on-call rotation, including overnight travel
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely response to customer needs
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, quick learner
  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet driving record requirements
  • Pass pre-employment background and drug tests
Preferred
  • NICET Level II certification
