Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler System Designer to join our team and contribute to various design, drafting, and coordination tasks on multiple projects.

The role requires reading construction documents, performing hydraulic calculations, and creating detailed HydraCAD drawings while coordinating with estimating, project management, and field teams to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with NFPA codes.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of fire protection system layout and calculation experience.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, backflows and fire pumps.
• HydraCAD and 3D coordination experience.
• Experience with fire sprinkler industry design software.
• Experience with installation of underground piping.
• NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 code requirements.
• NICET Level II in water-based systems layout.
• Knowledge of the Fire and Life Safety industry.

Responsabilités

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler System Designer. This is a key position for our growing team that requires knowledge and attention to detail in all aspects of NFPA 13,14, 20 & 24. This position will work closely with our estimating, project management, field, and fabrication teams.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

• Read and interpret construction documents and plans.
• Fire sprinkler design of automatic fire systems, including fire pumps, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain individual schedule and completion dates.
• Create detailed drawings through the use of HydraCAD software.
• Use BIM to design system onto engineered drawings.
• Conduct field surveys and assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and detail stock lists for fabrication.
• Ensure work complies with applicable codes and AHJ requirements.
• Pre-construction coordination with other trades.
• Identify changes in projects that impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• Two to five years of fire protection system layout and calculation experience.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
