Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced sprinkler designer to craft NFPA-compliant sprinkler systems, prepare detailed CAD drawings with AutoSprink and HydraCAD, and perform hydraulic calculations.

You will review designs with engineers and drafters, ensure code compliance, and lead a small team to timely project completion while coordinating with sales and project managers.

Qualifications

• Five years of sprinkler system layout and hydraulic calculation experience.
• NICET Level III certification in water-based systems layout.
• Ability to create detailed drawings using CAD software.
• Experience with fire sprinkler industry design software.
• Ability to read fire sprinkler system design drawings.
• Proficient in NFPA 13, 14, 20 & 24 code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA and project specifications.
• Review designs with team members and drafters.
• Create detailed CAD drawings and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Review designs before submission to ensure quality and code compliance.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Lead a team to complete design tasks and coordinate with sales and project managers.
• Assist management in organizing and planning work and developing a quality service program.
• Advise drafters to meet goals and objectives and ensure AHJ compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (and doing well!)

• Design sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA and project specifications.
• Participate in the review process withotherdesign team membersand drafters, as requested by management.
• Create detailed drawingsusingCAD software (such as AutoSprink, HydraCAD, etc) and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Review all designs before submittingfor approval to ensure they meetSciensquality standard and code requirements.
• FollowallScienspolicies and procedures during daily work activities.
• Work independently and lead a team to complete all tasks and related design functions.Routinely work with sales and project managers to ensure the most efficient design while maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Assist and provide feedback to the sales and project managers for organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
• Assistmanagement in developing and implementing a quality service program to increase efficiency and proficiencies for the design and engineering department.
• Assist management by advisingdraftersto ensure that their goals and objectives are met.
• Ensure design complies with applicable codes and AHJ requirements.
