Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Texas is seeking a Sprinkler Service Technician who independently performs service, maintenance and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This role requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision.

The technician may be considered at a Journeyman level and is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• System Installation: Installing new fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, foam, and special hazard systems, and ensuring proper placement according to blueprints and technical specifications.
• Inspection and Testing: Conducting routine inspections, flow tests, and system checks to verify functionality and compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Troubleshooting system issues, repairing or replacing faulty components such as sprinkler heads, pressure gauges, and backflows, and performing preventive maintenance.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate electronic records of installations, inspections, and repairs, and preparing detailed reports on system deficiencies.
• Emergency Response: Performing emergency service calls to address system failures or malfunctions promptly.
• Travel to job sites as required.
