Job summary

Total Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Service & Inspection Technician – Backflow Certified to join our team. This role performs inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs for fire sprinkler systems and backflow prevention assemblies, following NFPA standards and local regulations.

Overnight travel to customer sites is required and participation in after-hours on-call may be needed. Required are a valid Backflow Tester license, 18+ years, clean driving record, and the ability to

Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Fire Sprinkler Service & Inspection Technician – Backflow Certified to join our team. This position is responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for fire sprinkler systems and related fire protection equipment. The technician will also conduct certified backflow prevention assembly testing in accordance with NFPA standards, local regulations, and customer requirements.

This role involves conducting annual, semi-annual, quarterly, three - and five-year inspections at customer locations throughout South Dakota and surrounding states. Occasional overnight travel is required, along with participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service calls.

Job Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Current Certified Backflow Tester License (required)
• Fire sprinkler inspection and service experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection systems (preferred)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel overnight when required
• Ability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends when necessary

• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and testing equipment
