Job summary

Johnson Controls in Rancho Cucamonga seeks a Fire Sprinkler Inspector 1 to perform inspections, testing, service and preventive maintenance on sprinkler and life safety systems. You will document findings, use laptops or devices for coding, and support installation tasks as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, NICET I or progress toward certification, physical ability to lift 50–70 lbs, and a willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET I certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Able to obtain/licenses required by codes.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals and manuals.
• Proficient with hand tools and a multimeter.
• Capable of physical labor up to 50–70 lbs.
• Willing to travel and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Meet customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
• Identify and document deficiencies observed during inspections.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
• Complete service acknowledgements/inspections with proper coding via devices.
• Maintain a structured inspection schedule and complete jobs on time.
• Carry/move equipment up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Assist foreman with installation of sprinkler systems (wet/dry/pre-action/deluge).
• Work in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, high lifts).
• Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program and adhere to standards.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to learn quickly.
