Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety LifeSafety Management seeks a Fire Sprinkler & Alarm Inspector to perform ITM on water-based systems across commercial and residential properties. Work independently, manage a daily route, and provide accurate inspection reports for customers.

Role requires NFPA 25/72 knowledge, ability to read drawings, and ongoing reminder of NFPA revisions. Travel may be required. Fortis is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems or water-based systems; fire alarm experience desirable.
• Knowledge of NFPA 25; familiarity with NFPA 72 and Florida fire code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow devices, and fire alarm systems.
• Inspect components like valves, risers, gauges, and related equipment for code compliance.
• Document results and deficiencies, and generate reports for clients and AHJs.
• Communicate findings clearly to customers and identify follow-up service opportunities.
• Read sprinkler drawings and hydraulic information to verify system design and operation.
• Maintain inventory and calibration of test equipment and tools.
