Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect and maintain sprinkler systems, coordinate with sales and field teams, and ensure code-compliant operation. The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and customer interaction in a growing team.

The candidate should have at least 2 years in Fire and Life Safety, NICET I, Sprinkler Apprentice program enrollment, OSHA 10 (or ability to obtain), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Enrolled in Sprinkler Apprentice Program.
• Strong understanding of sprinkler systems components and operation.
• Experience with wet, dry, and pre-action systems; backflows and fire pumps.
• Underground piping installation experience preferred.
• NFPA 13 knowledge.
• NICET Level I.
• Site/equipment certifications as required by the business.
• Product certifications as determined by the business.
• Backflow inspection/repair certification preferred.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Proficient with electronic devices and software for inspection reports.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge; able to obtain OSHA 10.
• Customer-focused with project and people management skills.
• Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Physically fit for demanding trade work (lifting, heights, ladders).
• Willing to travel overnight occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with systems and service departments for project execution.
• Coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Produce field surveys and daily project activity logs.
• Inspect and maintain fire sprinkler systems.
• Produce inspection and deficiency reports per NFPA.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
• Log and transmit inspection reports via laptop.
• Oversee project inventory and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support and guidance to other inspectors.
• Manage job scheduling and progress with a focus on quality and cost.
• Comply with safety programs and Sciens procedures.
