Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician in Jensen Beach, FL. The role involves independently inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems to ensure code compliance and quality workmanship.

The technician will diagnose deficiencies, document results, and travel to job sites as needed. A high school diploma plus 3+ years in the field, plus relevant certifications, are required to qualify for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• FASA/BASA & Water-Based certification.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and fire alarm inspection procedures.
• Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete tasks.
• Complete required documentation and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.

The Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for independently performing inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems. This position requires demonstrated technical competency and the ability to complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician is expected to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
• Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.

Pay

• $25 to $25 certifications and experience.
• Weekly pay.
