Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a qualified Fire Sprinkler Technician to service and repair sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

You will interpret blueprints and manuals, troubleshoot issues, and perform planned maintenance to ensure reliable operation. The role requires at least 2 years in the fire sprinkler industry, travel willingness, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Active member of Union Local 696.
• 2+ years of experience in Fire Sprinkler/Suppression.
• Ability to read blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.
• Able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Possess and retain current State Fire Protection or Journeyman license, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and determine equipment/system issues.
• Contact customer representative to ascertain problems.
• Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems in commercial/industrial/residential settings.
• Work with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps as needed.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals and notices.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service and document actions with signatures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned.
