Job summary

Fire Fighter Sales and Service Co. is seeking a Sprinkler Designer I to plan and layout fire sprinkler systems in Warrendale, PA.

You will use HydraCAD to develop detailed designs, perform hydraulic calculations, and ensure compliance with NFPA codes throughout design and on-site verification. The role requires coordinating with architects, engineers, and field staff to integrate piping layouts with building systems and to prepare accurate material lists, procurement support, and O&M

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Drafting, Fire Protection Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of hands-on fire sprinkler design experience preferred.
• NICET Level II in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and related design software.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, applying NFPA codes and local standards to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Coordinate sprinkler piping layouts with structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure proper system performance and compliance.
• Conduct hydrostatic flow tests to verify water supply and system adequacy.
• Perform on-site field checks to verify dimensions and installation conditions.
• Prepare material stock lists and manage procurement to support installations.
• Participate in project management, attend site meetings, and help ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Compile as-built drawings and draft O&M manuals for client turnover.
