Job summary

Cosco Fire Protection is seeking a CAD Drafter with a solid foundation in designing fire sprinkler systems. You will prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, and sketches to support installation and fabrication, ensuring dimensions and views align with project specs.

The ideal candidate has an education certificate or equivalent in design, familiarity with CAD software, and the ability to perform basic calculations.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school in fire sprinkler design or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret layouts for fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 13 and related codes preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Designs fire protection sprinkler systems with accuracy to minimize design errors.
• Reviews work orders and manuals to determine critical design dimensions.
• Calculates figures to convert design dimensions for production and installation.
• Submits design plans for approval and coordinates with engineering staff.
• Inputs information to produce graphic representations of designs for review.
• Creates final sketches, checks dimensions and materials for assemblies.
• Revises size, shape and arrangement of parts to refine designs.
• Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights and dimensions.
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of layouts and systems.
