Job summary

Impact Fire Services is seeking an Apprentice Helper to learn the mechanics of sprinkler system installation and support inspection, service, and maintenance on commercial systems. You will assist a Sprinkler Fitter, gain hands-on experience, and work on job sites while adhering to federal and state licensing requirements.

We offer mentorship, training reimbursement for licensing, and a pathway through apprenticeship programs across fire sprinkler, alarm and inspection roles.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal work instructions/directions.
• Capable of working independently with moderate supervision.
• Team-oriented and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn installation, inspection and servicing codes.
• Physical activity and basic math calculations required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment background, MVR and drug test.
• Experience in either fire protection or commercial customer service is a plus.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical work, and sprinkler system components helpful.
• Willingness to work across multiple product lines.
• Maintain neat personal appearance and adhere to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Fitter to complete tasks on site in a timely manner.
• Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain state licensing.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Work safely per company procedures including PPE and lockout/tag-out.
• Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Fitter and Manager.
