Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to assist in laying out, fabricating, installing and maintaining piping systems, fixtures and industrial processing systems. The candidate should be coachable and mechanically inclined.

Under the supervision of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen, you will learn to install pipe systems, cut and thread pipes, read blueprints and calculate material measurements to ensure specs are met.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must enroll and obtain a current Fire Sprinkler License.
• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
• Ability to work under supervision of Sprinkler Technicians.
• Strong math, problem solving, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and learn from Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in installing pipe systems, valves and fittings.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond pipes and tubes per specifications.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings; remove and replace worn components.
• Learn to read blueprints and calculate material measurements to meet specs.
• Follow installation techniques and adapt to on-site conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.
