Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to assist in laying out, fabricating, installing, and maintaining piping systems for fire protection. The role emphasizes coachable, mechanically inclined candidates who will learn under Sprinkler Technician Journeymen.

The position requires a HS diploma or equivalent, enrollment for the Fire Sprinkler License, and ability to read blueprints while working with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge are required.
• Ability to work under supervision of Sprinkler Technicians.
• Basic math, problem solving, and organization skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen.
• Install pipe systems and valves according to specifications.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond pipes and tubes.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings.
• Remove and replace worn components; follow blueprints.
