Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to assist in laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and related systems. The ideal candidate is coachable and mechanically inclined, with a desire to learn from Sprinkler Technician Journeymen.

Responsibilities include installing pipe systems and valves, cutting and bonding pipes, following blueprints, and calculating material measurements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision under direction of Sprinkler Technicians.
• Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem solving, multitasking and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist and learn under the direction of Sprinkler Technician Journeymen in installing pipe systems and valves.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond pipes and tubes according to specifications.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings; remove worn components.
• Follow blueprints to meet product specifications; calculate material measurements.
• Learn proper installation techniques; other duties may be assigned.
