Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice to assist in laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping and related systems. The ideal candidate is coachable and mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities include learning under Journeymen, installing pipe systems and valves, following blueprints, and calculating material measurements to meet specifications. Must have good English communication and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must enroll and obtain a current Fire Sprinkler License.
• Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.
• Able to work with minimal supervision under Sprinkler Technicians.
• Strong math, problem solving, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent English reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen installing pipe systems and valves.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond pipes per specifications.
• Modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Learn to follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
• Learn how to calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
• Learn proper installation techniques.
• Other duties may be assigned.
