Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Utah driver's license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• 5 years experience as a firefighter.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly testing for certification of licensed technicians to operate fire extinguishers and related systems.
• Conduct yearly inspections of fire protection services statewide and in surrounding communities.
• Certify cigarettes sold in the state for fire safety compliance.
• Issue food truck stickers and train staff on safety practices.
• Approve plans for automatic fire suppression systems in state buildings, universities, and schools.
• Update tests used for certification of new technicians.
• Collaborate on online testing development with Utah interactive.
• Maintain strong customer service between industry and customers.
• Prepare cases by researching laws and gathering evidence.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency rules.
• Provide consultations and facilitate decision making.
• Deliver presentations and training to staff, management, clients, or the public.
