Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore® is seeking a Fire Restoration Technician in Irvine, California. This role involves monitoring and completing tasks related to fire restoration jobs, ensuring quality control while performing various duties such as water extraction and demolition, and maintaining communication with customers.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably experience in restoration or construction. Good communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Experience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phone.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders and ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck.
• Explains processes used to complete jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control.
• Performs fire/smoke damage repair tasks and light construction as directed.
• Inspects jobs after completion and obtains customer signatures for approval.

Job description

Position Overview

A successful Fire Restoration Technician monitors, inspects and completes tasks for restoration jobs to ensure completion of pack‑out of contents and various fire restoration activities. The Technician prepares and reviews documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies, as well as explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.

Compensation

Job Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck needed for job, arrives to work site.
• Explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers using printed materials as a guide with or without supervisor.
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job with urgency.
• Performs fire/smoke damage repair and tasks to include water extraction, pack‑out of contents; removing/disposing of non‑salvageable materials, light construction and demolition as directed by supervisor.
• Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Reports any equipment malfunction and/or damage to supervisor.
• Inspects jobs after completion and obtains customer signatures for approval purposes; requests payments when necessary.
• Responsible for making daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings.
• Resolves issues with customers, communicates customer issues, daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff.
• Prepares documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.

Job Requirements
