Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a sprinkler fitter or fire protection tech.
• NICET Level 2 preferred but not required.
• Backflow certification preferred but not required.
• Experience installation and rebuilding of fire pumps preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings.
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
• Must be available and able to report to multiple job sites as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, tests, adjusts and removes sprinkler systems using instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Cuts, threads and hangs pipe.
• Responsible for the installation and rebuilding of fire pumps.
• Installation of valves, couplings and other fittings.
• Reads and interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Installs clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment.
• Connects piping system to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment.
• Tests system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment.
• Trains and directs the day to day work of a helper.
• Maintains appropriate documentation for the work performed.
