Job summary

Marmic Fire & Safety is hiring a Sprinkler Technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will inspect components, document results, perform tests, and ensure NFPA standards are met while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • NICET 1 IT&M water-based systems
  • Backflow Certified
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a professional attitude.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.
  • Ability to speak and write in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, welding, and soldering equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, with ongoing compliance throughout employment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving equipment over 50 lbs, and working in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, using high lift equipment, and working in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and testing of fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Identify and document system deficiencies, malfunctions, or areas needing improvement.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on sprinkler systems and coordinate major repairs or upgrades.
  • Create layout drawings of piping systems and modify existing sprinkler systems to meet standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Prepare and deliver clear reports to clients outlining findings and actions.
  • Communicate inspection results and recommendations to clients and vendors.
  • Follow safety standards and company policies during all activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and service delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve sprinkler system issues using NFPA codes and standards.
