Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to perform inspections, testing, and service on fire safety systems.

You will work within a larger Facility Maintenance team on site, ensuring timely completion of work orders and clear communication with customers. Qualified candidates will have NFPA 25 (2023) and NFPA 20/72/291 knowledge, a Backflow Test/Repair Certification, and NICET II.

Qualifications

• Must have NFPA 25 2023 and NFPA 20, NFPA 72, and NFPA 291 references.
• Must have Backflow Test and Repair Certification.
• Must have NICET Level II Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
• Must have 4+ years of experience in all fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, and pre-action).
• Willing to support training/development for entry-level candidates.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs on a regular basis.
• Basic mechanical skills are required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect facility fire safety systems as part of preventive maintenance program.
• Write and provide inspection/service reports on tested equipment and devices; indicate any deficiencies or corrections that need to be made.
• Assist in testing, maintaining, and performing light repairs on the fire sprinkler system.
• Learn the fire protection control system to provide service calls as needed.
• Complete all work orders and reports thoroughly and on time.
• Interact with customers in professional manner; follow-up communication with customer is critical.
• Perform/participate in after-hours emergency call rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
