Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to perform inspections, tests, and repairs on fire protection systems across client facilities. You will work within the fire life and safety group as part of a larger facility maintenance team, coordinating with management and customers to ensure timely, high-quality service.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA standards, certification in backflow testing, NICET Level II, and at least four years of sprinkler system experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and customers.
• Knowledge of NFPA 25 2023 and the 2022 editions of NFPA 20, NFPA 72, and NFPA 291.
• Must have Backflow Test and Repair Certification.
• Must have NICET Level II Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
• Must have 4 or more years of experience in all fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, and pre-action).
• Willing to support training/development for entry-level candidates.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs on a regular basis.
• Basic mechanical skills are required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect facility fire safety systems as part of preventive maintenance program.
• Write and provide inspection/service reports on tested equipment and devices; indicate deficiencies or corrections.
• Assist in testing, maintaining, and performing light repairs on the fire sprinkler system.
• Learn the fire protection control system to provide service calls as needed.
• Complete all work orders and reports thoroughly and on time.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner; follow-up communication with customer is critical.
• Perform/participate in after-hours emergency call rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
