Job summary

Grunau Fire in Oak Creek, WI is seeking a Fire Protection Project Manager and Designer to design, coordinate, and manage sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. You will create finished drawings using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or HydraCAD, and handle project planning, scheduling, material lists, and changes.

The role requires a Construction Management degree or equivalent, NICET certification, and at least three years of fire sprinkler design/PM experience.

Qualifications

• Construction Management degree or technical degree required.
• NICET certification required (In Training or Level I-IV).
• Proven ability with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD or similar fire sprinkler CAD tools.
• Minimum three years of fire sprinkler design and project management experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; supervisory experience a plus.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, and residential design is required.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors to design sprinkler systems.
• Assess construction feasibility and system options using analytical thinking.
• Create detailed drawings with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD.
• Develop material stock lists and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare project schedules and maintain design records for future use.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper handover of information.
• Monitor progress, safety, quality, and profitability requirements on projects.
• Oversee field labor and staffing, track hours and crew mix.
• Manage changes in scope, cost, and schedule; ensure timely change orders.
