Job summary

Western States Fire Protection in Sparks, NV seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer and Project Manager to design, coordinate, and manage sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will produce finished representations using drafting tools and plan initial schedules and material stock lists.

The role requires NICET certification, at least three years of fire sprinkler design/PM experience, and strong collaboration with subs and other departments to ensure safety, quality,

Qualifications

• Construction Management degree or equivalent technical degree.
• Preference of at least two years of fire sprinkler design and project management experience.
• NICET certification required (In Training or Levels I–IV).
• Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD or similar software.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a timely manner.
• Minimum of three years of fire sprinkler design and project management experience.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with freehand and mechanical lettering/drawings.
• Willing to coordinate with others.
• Willing to pass post-offer drug test, background, and reference check.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and coordinate with subs/GC to gather design info.
• Use analytical thinking to determine feasibility and system possibilities.
• Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or HydraCAD.
• Create stock lists for materials required.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and develop preliminary schedules.
• Coordinate with other departments and ensure proper handover of information.
• Monitor safety, quality, productivity and profitability on projects.
• Oversee field labor and ensure staffing on each project.
• Identify project changes impacting cost, schedule or labor.
