Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead fire protection, security, and building systems projects in commercial, educational, healthcare and industrial facilities from inception to completion.

You will manage design, permits, scheduling, material delivery and field installation while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience are required, with travel up to 30%. A company vehicle is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or equivalent field.
• Five years fire protection, construction, alarm/detection, or related project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
• Possess a strong and active working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Be able to create tracking spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets and create macros.

Responsibilities

• Manage fire alarm, security, communications, and sprinkler installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare and industrial facilities.
• Oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.
• Develop comprehensive project plans to meet schedules and budgets.
• Conduct Work in Progress meetings.
• Follow all codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Ensure AHJ requirements and SOX procedures are followed.
• Coordinate change orders and drive margin improvement on every job.
• Communicate status to project staff, customers and management.
