Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking an Operations Manager to lead inspection, testing, maintenance, service and installation across fire alarm, sprinkler, suppression and extinguisher operations. You will drive service quality, employee development, and profitability while partnering with Account Managers and National Accounts.

You will train staff, manage performance, hire locally and remotely, and maintain strong customer relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in a related field.
• Direct experience in fire protection (alarm, sprinkler, suppression) operations.
• Industry certifications are a plus (FAL, FEL, FEL-K, NICET).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing field service teams and remote staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quotes, inspections, and service tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Provide ongoing training for field teams and customer service best practices.
• Resolve customer concerns, disputes, and billing issues promptly.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching and development.
• Manage local and remote employees to sustain service quality.
• Regularly meet with customers to gather feedback and identify improvements.
• Assess staffing needs and make hiring recommendations for growth.
• Collaborate with technicians, inspectors, fitters and field personnel on inventory and efficiency.
• Monitor performance metrics and report updates to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with fire and life safety codes and company standards.
• Support National Accounts with consistent service across locations.
• Coordinate with Account Managers to resolve issues and strengthen relationships.
