Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Columbus, OH to support standard engineering tasks, design updates, and collaboration with lead engineers across markets.

The role focuses on applying engineering techniques, assisting with project duties, and learning within a multidisciplinary team. Candidates should be enrolled in a related degree, maintain a strong GPA, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education related to the department.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow in the field.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
