Job summary

Atlantis Fire Protection, LLC is seeking an inspector to independently perform scheduled inspection, testing, and documentation of water-based fire protection, fire alarm, and backflow systems. You will identify deficiencies, communicate life-safety impacts, and deliver complete reports in accordance with NFPA codes and jurisdictional requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with customers, maintaining equipment readiness, and producing accurate records using company software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least two years of inspection/service experience.
• Current NICET Level II in Water-Based Systems and NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems; second certification obtainable within company-approved period.
• Current UF TREEO Backflow Tester certification; water-purveyor approvals as required.
• For Florida assignments: active Water-Based Fire Protection Inspector Permit and Fire Alarm System Agent credential as applicable; maintain all permits and CE.
• Able to read plans, riser diagrams, and inspection records; proficient with inspection software and mobile devices.
• Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the United States; pass background and screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan routes, verify contacts, review prior reports, and maintain professional communication with customers.
• Inspect and test water-based systems per NFPA 25 and applicable authority requirements.
• Inspect and test fire alarm control units and related devices per NFPA 72 and procedures.
• Perform backflow testing and complete required forms.
• Conduct tests without impairing operations; document results and provide clear recommendations.
• Coordinate test status, notifications, and safety needs with customers and authorities.
• Document counts, locations, readings, photos, and equipment data in company software.
• Classify deficiencies and generate repair leads for estimating and follow-up.
• Maintain equipment readiness and report issues; follow safety procedures and permits.
• Support after-hours and regional assignments as needed.
