Job summary

Atlantis Fire Protection in Auburn, AL seeks an experienced inspector to conduct scheduled inspections and tests of water-based fire protection, fire alarm, and backflow systems. You will document findings, communicate life-safety impacts, and ensure reports meet codes and customer requirements.

The role requires NICET II water-based and fire alarm certifications, UF TREEO backflow tester credentials, and state permits as applicable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant inspection/service experience.
NICET Level II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems and NICET Level II in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems required.
UF TREEO Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification, including two-year recertification; Backflow Repair and Maintenance certification preferred.
For Florida assignments: Water-Based Fire Protection Inspector Permit and Fire Alarm System Agent credentials required; BASA if burglar/security work.
Proficient with inspection software, mobile devices, digital reports, email, photos, and basic electrical/mechanical test equipment; able to read plans and diagrams.
Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States; able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

Plan routes, confirm site contacts, review prior reports, and maintain professional communication with customers.
Inspect and test water-based systems per NFPA 25 and AHJ edition requirements.
Inspect and test fire alarm control units and related devices per NFPA 72.
Perform backflow testing and comply with certifications and local requirements.
Document readings, results, deficiencies, photos, and recommendations in company software; issue tags and reports on time.
Coordinate monitoring-system test status, impairment notifications, and required shutdowns with stakeholders.
Maintain meters, test equipment, and safety procedures; report damaged equipment immediately.
