Job summary

Plainfield City is seeking a Fire Protection Inspector to review fire protection plans, conduct field inspections, and enforce the State Uniform Construction Code and fire protection subcode within the Plainfield jurisdiction.

The ideal candidate will have a valid NJ Fire Protection Inspector license (ICS/HHS), deep knowledge of fire protection systems, and the ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and provide testimony when needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Fire Protection Inspector license (ICS or HHS) issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
• Strong knowledge of the Uniform Construction Code and fire protection subcode.
• Ability to analyze fire protection plans and prepare inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Review fire protection plans and perform field inspections to enforce codes.
