Job summary

Impact Fire Services, LLC is seeking a trainee helper to learn the mechanics of fire sprinkler and fire alarm installation, extinguisher and suppression systems. The role includes site tasks, unseen duties, and assisting in testing under close supervision.

As experience builds, responsibilities expand while ensuring safety and vehicle upkeep. A valid driver’s license and willingness to learn are required, with licensing pursued as state rules allow.

Job description

This position is considered a trainee who is learning the mechanics of fire sprinkler/fire alarm system installation, fire extinguisher and suppression systems. This position may be responsible for site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work material to other employees at a job site. Position will also cut and thread pipe, run wire for fire alarm systems. May install and test fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Sprinkle Fitter or Senior Technician. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Sprinkler Fitter. Continued employment is contingent on successfully obtaining applicable state licensing. The Helper is also responsible for assisting in maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle and ensuring a safe environment for his/herself, co-workers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Fitter to achieve any tasks necessary to complete work on a given job site in a timely, effective manner.
• Learn applicable fire protection codes and obtain applicable state licensing.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Maintain their vehicle in accordance with company procedures and ensure it is clean and organized.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Fitter and/or the Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Manager.

Qualifications
