Job summary

The Macomb Group, a premier provider of fire protection products, seeks a Fire Protection Fabrication Manager to lead our Charlotte, NC fabrication operations. You will guide a skilled team, ensure safety, and drive production standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring leadership, hands-on coaching, and a commitment to continuous improvement, overseeing daily workflows, quality controls, and project timelines from planning to completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Regularly lift up to 50lbs.
• Be able to walk, stand, or lift the entire shift.
• Knowledge of Fire Protection/PVF is a plus.
• Some years of related warehouse/fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily fabrication operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
• Supervise fabricators, welders, machinists; provide coaching, performance feedback, and training
• Implement and enforce quality standards; conduct inspections; resolve defects or non-conformities
• Ensure OSHA compliance, maintain safe work environments, and lead safety audits or corrective actions
• Oversee maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and ensure machinery is operating at peak performance
• Lead fabrication projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines and specifications are met.
• Motivate, organize, and discipline staff
• Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
• Use of Lift Truck and Crane to move materials
• Other duties as assigned

Summary

The Macomb Group is a leading distributor of fire protection products and fabricated solutions throughout the Carolinas. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Protection Fabrication Manager to lead our fabrication operations at our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced and expanding operation, leading a skilled team while helping drive the continued growth and success of our Charlotte fire protection business. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-oriented professional with strong leadership abilities, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a desire to make a lasting impact.
