Job summary

gpac is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Indianapolis-area team. The role focuses on designing fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities, ensuring life safety and code compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of fire protection experience and strong skills in AutoCAD and Revit, with collaborative, client-focused project involvement across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 3 years fire protection engineering experience.
Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
Experience designing fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsibilities

Design and develop fire protection systems including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazards, and life safety systems.
Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
Prepare design drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Review project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Conduct site surveys and perform field evaluations as necessary.
Support permitting, plan review, and AHJ coordination efforts.
Provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client discussions.
