Job summary

gpac is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Indianapolis-area team on complex commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, and mission-critical projects.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering (or related field) with at least 3 years of experience, strong NFPA knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit to develop drawings and calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards and life safety engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fire protection systems including sprinkler, alarm, special hazards, and life safety.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system analyses.
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Review project requirements, codes, and standards for compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Conduct site surveys and field evaluations as needed.
• Support permitting, plan review, and AHJ coordination efforts.
• Provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews.
