Job summary

gpac is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Indianapolis area team. The role focuses on designing fire protection systems for complex commercial and industrial projects, ensuring life safety and code compliance.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver reliable life-safety solutions. Ideal candidates bring a minimum of 3 years of fire protection experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit, and strong communication skills to support project reviews and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of fire protection engineering experience.
Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
Experience designing fire sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

Responsibilities

Design and develop fire protection systems including fire sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazards, and life safety systems.
Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
Prepare design drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Review project requirements, codes, and standards to ensure compliance.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Conduct site surveys and perform field evaluations as necessary.
Support permitting, plan review, and AHJ coordination efforts.
Provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client discussions.
