Job summary

gpac is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer for the Indianapolis area to join a leading engineering and construction organization on complex projects spanning commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of fire protection experience, strong knowledge of NFPA codes, and the ability to design sprinkler and alarm systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with architects and contractors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 3 years fire protection engineering experience.
Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
Experience designing sprinkler and/or fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

Design and develop fire protection systems including sprinkler, alarm, and life safety systems.
Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
Prepare design drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
Review project requirements, codes and standards for compliance.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders.
Conduct site surveys and field evaluations as needed.
Support permitting, plan review, and AHJ coordination.
Provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
Participate in project meetings and design reviews.
