Job summary

HED is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in Denver to advance design from concept through construction. You will lead design development, perform calculations, and coordinate with architectural and structural teams.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree, PE licensure, 5+ years in the AEC industry, and Revit proficiency. Excellent communication and mentoring skills are valued in our hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong Revit experience required.
• Solid communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for fire protection systems across project phases.
• Independently perform fire protection design tasks with minimal input.
• Prepare technical documentation for fire protection systems and equipment schedules.
• Develop and review fire protection layouts in Revit with coordination.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to resolve design conflicts.
• Respond to RFIs and submittals with support from lead engineers.
• Perform field verification and participate in construction observation visits.
• Mentor designers and interns in software use and standards.
• Participate in project meetings and support meeting minutes and follow-up.
