Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a Fire Mitigation Engineer II to design and support fire mitigation strategies, perform analyses, and provide engineering guidance. The role may require shift work and occasional overnight travel.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, reliability and compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements while delivering cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with fire mitigation concepts, standards, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes data, performs evaluations and trend analyses to guide fire mitigation decisions.
• Stays current on fire mitigation technology and industry developments and engages with peers.
• Provides technical guidance to engineers and oversees program elements.
• Identifies and resolves technical concerns using sound engineering principles.
• Reviews analyses and investigations prepared by others for quality.
• May lead small- to mid-scale projects, coordinating all project facets.
• Oversees engineering program requirements with cross-organizational partners.
