Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering in Dallas, TX is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design and analyze fire protection and fire alarm systems for mission-critical facilities, ensuring code compliance and safe evacuation planning.

You will produce detailed construction drawings, coordinate with internal teams, and support submittals, RFIs and construction-phase documentation while delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering or a closely related field.
• 1-3 years of fire protection design experience.
• E.I.T. certification is preferred but not required.
• PE certification or active licensure pursuit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produces highly detailed, coordinated construction drawings across all disciplines.
• Coordinates with internal team members to support project success.
• Integrates into a highly technical team & consistently delivers high-quality work.
• Designs compliant & effective fire protection systems & fire alarm systems.

Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer

Reports to: Principal

Job Summary:

The Fire Protection Engineer is responsible for ensuring structural integrity & safety during fire events, utilizing science & engineering principles to protect people, property, & businesses from fire & smoke. This role involves analyzing fire risks to design specialized systems like sprinklers & alarms, ensuring building code compliance, & developing evacuation plans.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education & Experience:

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk & working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Ability to travel and move throughout construction sites intermittently as required by project needs.
