Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Morristown, NJ. You will apply standard engineering techniques to assist with design, corrections, and updates on various projects across the Aviation & Federal market.

You will work closely with lead engineers and support multiple project duties as assigned. The role requires enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Fire Protection Engineering or related field, with ABET accreditation preferred, and a GPA of 3.0+ is strongly

Qualifications

• Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques to design and update systems.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties.
• Provide support across Aviation & Federal market projects, including planning and facility design tasks.
