Qualifications

• High school diploma required for the role.
• Two years of experience in mechanical trades installation or inspection or three years as Fire Chief or similar admin in a fire department.
• Associate's degree can substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of public buildings to minimize fire loss per Kentucky standards.
• Maintains accurate records of inspections and deficiencies.
• Conducts follow-up inspections to verify corrections.
• Investigates code-related complaints and documents deficiencies.
• Assists jurisdictions and fire departments with code questions and inspections.
• Participates in fire prevention campaigns as needed.
