Job summary

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, Office of the Fire Marshal, is seeking a Front Counter Technician to issue permits, respond to CUPA/PA inquiries, and schedule inspections while guiding customers through the submittal process.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service and data-entry skills, with experience researching records and maintaining accurate documents in a fast-paced environment. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time customer service experience with administrative support.
• Ability to explain program procedures, notices, deadlines and fees.
• Experience entering and maintaining information in automated systems.
• Ability to research parcel numbers, ownership, addresses and related records.

Responsibilities

• Issue Fire Prevention, CUPA or PA permits and enforce code compliance related to abatement.
• Receive and schedule requests for inspections and assist customers with applications.
• Calculate plan check fees or regulatory violation fees and maintain records.
• Research data and compile information for reports and packets.
