Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to install, inspect, service and repair fire extinguishers, emergency exit lights, and pre-engineered suppression and detection systems under minimal supervision.

You will use hand and power tools, troubleshoot components, follow NFPA codes, document work orders, travel up to 90%, and participate in safety programs, training, and seminars to stay current.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• State or any required certification is preferred.
• 2 Fire Life Safety industry experience in Fire Suppression.
• 2 years of professional computer skills.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 90%.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace extinguishers, pre-engineered systems and detection & control components.
• Troubleshoot and identify defective components of suppression systems.
• Repair or replace damaged components of suppression systems as well as fire extinguishers and detection systems.
• Communicate with internal and external customers professionally.
• Be punctual to required work locations and complete scheduled projects on time.
• Use Field Service Lightning to track work orders, materials needed, time on job.
• Complete documentation on work orders.
• Follow SFS's safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies and procedures.
• Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies.
• Attend seminars or training sessions to stay abreast of latest technology, codes, and standards changes.
• Other duties may be assigned.
