SOCOTEC in Florida seeks a curious, dependable intern to join our Fire & Life Safety team. This internship offers hands-on experience with engineers on real-world building and fire safety projects. You’ll learn how codes, protection systems, and safety practices are applied to design and construction.

Work includes office tasks and field/site visits, with mentoring and professional development opportunities within a Great Place to Work environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in fire protection, building safety, engineering, architecture, or the design and construction of buildings.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in an office environment and visiting project sites.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience on real-world building and fire safety projects.
• Learn how building codes, fire protection systems, and safety practices are applied to design and construction.
• Assist with plan reviews, site inspections, and risk analysis.
• Support documentation and technical reporting for project teams.
