SOCOTEC is seeking a curious and dependable Life Safety – Fire & Life Safety Engineering Intern to join our US Energy Commissioning team. You will work alongside experienced engineers on real-world building and fire safety projects in a role that blends office work with field visits.

Interns gain exposure to codes, fire protection systems, and safety practices, while developing technical, analytical, and communication skills for a future career in Fire & Life Safety consulting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Interest in fire protection, building safety, engineering, architecture, or construction.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building and fire code research and consultation.
• Support Fire Protection Engineers and Life Safety Consultants with project tasks.
• Review building plans and drawings.
• Learn how fire and life safety requirements are incorporated into designs.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and field observations.
• Document site conditions, inspection findings, and project information.
• Assist with technical reports and project documentation.
