Job summary

SOCOTEC invites a motivated intern to join its Fire & Life Safety team in the US. You will work with experienced engineers on real-world building and fire safety projects, gaining exposure to codes, systems, and safety practices.

The role combines office work with field site visits. Ideal candidates are pursuing related engineering degrees, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and are eager to learn in a collaborative consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building and fire code research and consultation.
• Support Fire Protection Engineers and Life Safety Consultants with project assignments.
• Assist with reviewing building plans and drawings.
• Learn how fire and life safety requirements are incorporated into building designs.
• Gain exposure to fire protection engineering and fire protection systems.
• Support documentation of site conditions, inspection findings and project information.
