Job summary

SOCOTEC invites motivated students to join our Fire & Life Safety internship in Worcester, MA. You will gain hands-on experience with real-projects alongside experienced engineers and consultants, contributing to building and fire code research, plan reviews, and risk assessments.

Work will mix office tasks with site visits, offering exposure to fire protection systems, life safety concepts, and technical reporting.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
Interest in fire protection, building safety, engineering, architecture, or design and construction of buildings.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with building and fire code research and consultation.
Support Fire Protection Engineers and Life Safety Consultants with project assignments.
Assist with reviewing building plans and drawings.
Learn how fire and life safety requirements are incorporated into building designs.
Gain exposure to fire protection engineering and fire protection systems.
Participate in site visits, inspections, and field observations.
