Job summary

John Knox Village in Florida seeks a Fire Safety Coordinator to lead campus-wide fire prevention, life safety programs, and compliance efforts. You will oversee inspections, maintain fire protection systems, and educate residents and staff on safety practices.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Fire Science or related field, experience with building codes and life safety regulations, and the ability to work cross-functionally with staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Safety Management, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with fire department, fire prevention program, or fire safety organization preferred.
• Experience coordinating inspections and ensuring regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enforce fire prevention regulations and compliance standards campus-wide.
• Ensure adherence to Building Codes, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate fire prevention and life safety inspections to maintain compliance.
• Maintain and inspect fire protection systems (alarms, sprinklers, pumps, extinguishers).
• Identify and address fire and life safety concerns across campus.
• Collaborate with management, contractors, inspectors, and authorities on safety matters.
• Maintain documentation of inspections, testing, maintenance and compliance.
• Educate residents and staff on fire safety practices.
• Participate in safety meetings and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Review plans and blueprints to ensure code compliance.
