Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an installation technician in Florida to support electronic product line installations and testing. You will assist with start-up to final testing, reading blueprints, and following instructions on site to ensure quality workmanship.

Requirements include 1 year of fire alarm or security system experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Applicants must pass drug and background screens and be able to perform physically demanding labor.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Construction experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for completion of install related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
  • Observes the actions of the responsible person(s) and applies as directed.
  • Helping with installation of electronic systems, including start up through final testing.
  • Follow verbal and written instruction, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including hard hats and work boots.
  • May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Daily submission of required paperwork.

What You Will Do

Required

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $18-25 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
